So what’s the difference between boudoir and sexy fitness?

Boudoir is a specific genre that involves a level of undress and wardrobe includes more intimate apparel such as lingerie, bodysuits, just a sheet, or nudity. The location is often, but not always, in a bedroom setting and images may be shot for a variety of reasons most typically for oneself or as a gift for a partner.

Because of the posing, setting, and wardrobe, these images are more intimate in nature. They showcase the human form and celebrate the client’s sensuality and femininity or masculinity. Posing is wide ranging and does not focus on flexing individual muscles. Photos may include close-ups, detail shots, and face-focused images along with the full-body form.

There is no pre-requisite body type, age, or athletic background for a boudoir session. While the athleticism of a client may be on display it is not the primary focus nor is it necessary to be lean for a shoot.

For our bodybuilding clients, we encourage shooting a boudoir session a few weeks before or after a bodybuilding competition rather than the day after the show at stage-lean conditioning.

Sexy Fitness is similar to boudoir photography in that it that involves a level of undress to showcase the physique; however wardrobe can include gym apparel in addition to lingerie, bodysuits, or nudity. The location is wider-ranging and can include the gym and outdoors in addition to our Denver-based studio. Photos are typically taken for oneself or a partner as a way to preserve athletic accomplishments, for social media, or for brands to advertise products.

Photos showcase the human form and celebrate the client’s muscularity. Posing emphasizes muscular definition and care is given during the session to ensure clients are flexing the correct muscles. Photos are more focused on the full-body form and may involve some body-scapes.

For our bodybuilding clients, we encourage shooting a sexy fitness session within a week or two of a show; ideally in stage-lean conditioning. For all other athletes, we will work with you to schedule a session that aligns with your goals.

Can they be combined into one session?

Absolutely! And many of our clients choose to go this route, or shoot some fitness images on the less-sexy side and then throw in a boudoir set. Please let us know at time of booking if you are interested in this so we make sure we get you set for the right package and session timeframe.
